Oil Painting
This is my first time using oil paints, and I think I did pretty decent. We all had to stretch out our own canvas, and everything. That took some time to get the canvas stretched out because we were all having many difficulties with the stapler... O_o We got it all figured out in the end... We had to paint something thematic, I think, and I thought back to what I drew a few days before. So, I drew it, and it turned out a bit better than the original drawing. I still don't like painting as much as I like drawing.
Overall
this is the overall of the painting. I had a night time theme, so I decided to do a rising/setting moon. The moon is actually a grayish color, because the black paint got a bit mixed into the white, but not much. There are bushes behind the waterline in the distance but they are still a bit dark. You can just barely see them.
#1 Faded Leaves
At first I wanted to add more leaves, but they started to turn out horribly. So, I started to cover them up, but I stopped at this point becasue it actually started to look good. I now wish I would've added more leaves then fade them in. But, it'll work, It looks pretty good to me.
#2 Moss...?
My failed attempt at moss growing on a tree branch. It does look like moss, but it just doesn't look as if it is actually on the branch. It turned out even worse on the drawing though, so it's an improvement. I had a dark green and I added some specks of green for shading issues.
#3 Moonlight Reflection
This is the reflection of the moon on the small pond. I made sure to shade it very well. The closer the water got to the moon, the lighter the water became. Near the plants I used a darker shade of blue to show its farther away.
Preliminary
This is the original drawing (which I have yet to put in. I'm working on it ok!?) Like I said, it doesn't look as good as the painting does. This was just an idea that popped into my head, so I decided to draw it in my sketchbook. I wish I could come up with more ideas like this.
