Painting class... research project.
Might as well start off this whole "painting page" with a research project! What do you think of watercolors? Many of you think of a messy version of painting, and you are right, but you are also wrong. It does involve water and paints, and you can use many methods to make the overall painting look more and more realistic.I personally don't use watercolors, but that doesn't mean I won't use them.

What is it: A watercolor painting... of a river. It shows a lot of texture in this painting because you can see the movement of the water. http://www.paintingswithfabric.com/watercolor/watercolor_s.php?pid=wc07A09 Koi watercolorBy: Sia Yekchung
Why I like this watercolor? Simple. There are fish. I mean really, who doesn't like the fishes? This is a great example of texture, because of the fish scales and the shadows. It also has a great amount of detail put into it, and that's what really pulls it together. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sia-rt/3276388268/#/ Chicken Dance

Don't even ask... I just like the chickens, but hey, it's a watercolor, so you (the teacher) can't get mad at me. This painting here doesn't show much detail, but just because it doesn't have much detail doesn't' mean it isn't good at all. http://www.woldstudio.com/original-watercolor-paintings.html Leaping Horse

This watercolor shows that you don't have to put much detail into it in order to make the painting look good. Simple paintings can always turn out great if you know what you are doing. It also shows a great deal of shading since it is basically all one single color. http://h2ocolor.com/post/2137376866/leaping-horse-by-jeanne-rewa-in-nashville |
Where Time Stands Still
_I like this painting because of the way the colors are mixed and whatnot. I also like the whole color theme to it. You can also see texture in this one, because it looks as if everything is blending together.

What do I like about this one? well... I like the technique she uses in this painting because it shows that by simply letting the colors flow you can make an amazing painting. It also has a lot of color which I like, and I say this because I like how she used the color. To some it may look messy, but to me it looks just fine. It depends on how you look at it. http://lora8.deviantart.com/art/WHALE-136367959 |
